Sema_vegaspr_newswire_photo_servicenewscThe car show that’s currently going on Las Vegas should really consider a new name, because the Specialty Equipment Market Association show, as it’s called, is all about pimping one’s ride, er, the car accessories market, and its current name just doesn't live up to its wildness-on-wheels. The show, covered in USA Today with a 20-picture photo gallery, features a Ford Fusion reconceived by Funkmaster Flex, a Mitsubishi pickup stripped of all “body protrusions” such as door handles, a Chevrolet that looks like an overgrown Chrysler PT Cruiser and clocked 208 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats and a modified Dodge Magnum by Roush (pictured here), which won the Design Excellence award. Meanwhile, design firm Pentagram unveiled a new age concept cab last night at an exhibit at New York’s Parsons School of Design entitled, “Designing the Taxi: Rethinking New York City's Moveable Public Space."
