ADWEEK's TVNewser Introduces the New and Improved Daily Cable News Ratings

TVNewser’s daily ratings posts return in a new and interactive format

TVNewser has been a trusted source for broadcast and cable news ratings for more than 20 years. Now, with the media landscape changing and midterm elections upon us, TVNewser is introducing one of its most significant changes to date: new, interactive formats for daily cable ratings.

With the news, the daily cable ratings, which showcase the performances of the big three cable news networks, CNN, Fox News, and MS NOW, are back after a long hiatus, making a triumphant return to TVNewser on Thursday, October 22.

The new daily cable news ratings will include an updated user-friendly format, using interactive charts to explain ratings for total viewership and the Adults 25-54 demo.

See an example of how the charts will look below:

How it works

With the new, improved daily cable news ratings, readers will see a chart pinpointing the performance of Fox News, CNN, and MS NOW throughout the evening-to-primetime viewing window.

These charts are color-coded for readability, making it easy to see how each network performed at each hour from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. And by hovering over any point on the charts, readers will see a breakdown of how the networks performed during that particular hour.

More to come

The new daily cable news ratings are just the start of the revamped TVNewser, with more interactivity across other data sets also on the way.

See the return of the daily cable ratings on Thursday, Oct. 22, and let us know your thoughts and what you want to see more of moving forward.
