Walmart Adds One-Hour Express Pickup Ahead Of Holidays

The service is now available at 500 stores and will expand nationwide

Walmart is taking a stab at Target and Amazon just before the holiday season with a feature that plays up its massive footprint of 4,600 U.S. stores.

The retailer is launching Express Pickup, a new feature in its app where customers can reserve items for curbside pickup in as soon as one hour. The feature is available in 500 stores and will expand nationwide in the coming weeks. It will be free for Walmart+ members, adding another perk to the fast-growing paid membership service.

Walmart already offers one-hour Express Delivery and launched 30-minute-or-less delivery in 33 U.S. markets in May.
