Uber Tries to Prove That Uber Eats Ads Don't Hurt Physical Restaurant Sales

The delivery platform partners with Affinity Solutions on measurement capabilities

Uber is on a mission to prove that Uber Eats ads boost in-person restaurant sales instead of cannibalizing them.

Uber Advertising has launched cross-channel incrementality measurement for sponsored listings on Uber Eats through a partnership with Affinity Solutions. The goal is to help restaurant chains understand how sponsored listings may drive sales at their physical locations, as well as on the delivery app. Uber is able to analyze the data of individual campaigns on request by advertisers.

“There’s an increasing interest in understanding not just what happens on Uber, but how investment in ads on Uber drive transactions to the rest of media plan,” Jake Kastner, global head of measurement strategy at Uber Advertising, told ADWEEK.
