After just 15 months, Wieden + Kennedy's Colleen DeCourcy has earned her "horns."DeCourcy, the global co-executive creative director at the agency, is now also a partner, joining a select group of 11 that includes co-founder Dan Wieden, president Dave Luhr and Susan Hoffman, ecd of the Portland, Ore. headquarters.
Wieden + Kennedy is preparing the next generation of management with a new global executive team. Colleen DeCourcy, the founder, chief creative officer and CEO of social media firm Socialistic, has been named global co-executive creative director.
Facebook has announced the formation of a Creative Council, a 14-member body tasked with providing the company with a forum to discuss ad product ideas and agency concerns. Naturally, the new council is holding its inaugural meeting in France this week during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
For Creative Week, GE and BBDO New York created a nifty holographic installation called "Throttle Up" that invites visitors to build a jet engine piece by piece. To promote it, Socialistic captured some super-slow-motion footage of well-known ad people taking some jet-engine-caliber wind to the face. The results are pretty amusing (see five videos after the jump), although cynics would say several of these people deserve a super-slo-mo slap to the face instead. See a few more videos at Throttle Up's Tumblr.
