HHGregg Shifts Business From Leo Burnett, Spark

HHGregg has informed Leo Burnett and Spark that it will be leaving the agencies. After uninspiring performance over the last two quarters, the company has decided to shift its marketing focus from brand-building back to retail promotion, according to an internal note obtained by Adweek. 

HHGregg Selects New Agencies

Two Publicis Groupe agencies have walked away with retailer HHGregg’s advertising account, according to sources.The Chicago offices of Leo Burnett and Spark SMG will handle creative and media responsibilities, respectively, sources said. HHGregg’s media spending exceeded $105 million last year, according to Nielsen.

HHGregg is in the late stages of an advertising review, with four agencies preparing for final pitches later this month, the retailer has confirmed.Both creative and media efforts are in play. So creative shops are partnering with media agencies to pitch the business.
