After launching Fairy Tale Twist on Facebook last August, Zynga has mixed things up a bit, renaming the game as Puzzle Charms. The move isn’t the first rebranding in Zynga’s history, as the company renamed FrontierVille to Pioneer Trail in 2011, and more recently, relaunched its ninja game Dojo Mojo as Ninja Kingdom.
The gameplay in Puzzle Charms hasn’t been changed, as players are still challenged to complete match-three levels throughout the worlds of fairy tales. Each level has a different layout and end goal, like rescuing animals, clearing dark cloudy squares from the board and more.
Levels are move-limited, but users can purchase power-ups to remove any single symbol from the board, shuffle all symbols on the board, or simply give themselves extra moves, among others.
This name change hasn’t slowed down updates for the game, as Zynga plans to release a new set of levels in “Book 7” soon.
Puzzle Charms’ player base has been on the increase in recent months, climbing to over 645,000 monthly active users (MAU), according to AppData, our tracking service for social and mobile apps and developers. That’s compared to 505,000 MAU in late December. Puzzle Charms is available to play for free on Facebook.
