YouTube Opens Their On The Rise Program To Public Nominations

By Megan O'Neill

Back in October of 2010, YouTube launched their On The Rise program, giving viewers the opportunity to vote for the top emerging YouTube channels.  Until now, YouTube identified four nominees each month and the general public was invited to vote for their favorites.  This month they’re changing things up a bit, giving fans the opportunity to nominate YouTube partners for the program in 2013.

Devon Storbeck and Christine Wang of YouTube Partner Support write on the YouTube blog, “We’re excited to announce that you can now nominate a YouTube partner to be considered for the ‘On The Rise’ program.  Feel free to submit nominations for your own channel, or for channels you follow that you think deserve more attention or could be the next YouTube sensation.  We’ll continue to feature promising partners who have fewer than 100,000 subscribers and produce engaging content on a regular basis.”

When you nominate a partner you’ll be asked to provide the partner’s channel name or URL, the number of subscribers (must be under 100,000) and explain what stands out about the channel and how it has demonstrated recent growth, as well as how it’s demonstrated YouTube’s best practices.

Check out some of the most recent On The Rise winners below.  Are there any partners you’re going to nominate?  Feel free to share them with us in the comments.
