YouTube CTO Chen Moves to Google

YouTube chief technology officer Steve Chen apparently “moved upstairs,” leaving the video site to work on unspecified engineering projects at its parent company, Google, AllThingsD reported.

The move was never officially announced, and The New York Times’ Bits Blog pointed out that Chen is still listed as CTO on YouTube’s site.

YouTube spokesman Ricard Reyes sent an e-mail to Bits Blog saying, “Steve shifted his focus to help with some Google engineering projects. He’s still involved with YouTube and invested in its success.”
