Twitter’s Super Tuesday [CHART]

Earlier in the week we looked at data from Twitter that tracked the rise and fall of the volume of tweets mentioning the four leading GOP candidates – Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul – in the run up to Super Tuesday, which took place on March 6th.

With 10 states up for grabs, Twitter analyzed the conversation about the Republican contenders over the course of the day, and the results are in.

Twitter notes that the biggest surprise of the night was the volume of tweets mentioning Rick Santorum, with almost 40,000 tweets referencing the former Pennsylvania senator between 6-7pm PT.
