Twitter is expanding its advertising offerings in South Africa by partnering with local contextual advertising network Ad Dynamo.
Announced on the Ad Dynamo blog, the advertising company is now Twitter’s exclusive ad sales partner in South Africa.
A significant outcome of this partnership will be the additional support that Ad Dynamo can give to local and international brands interested in advertising in South Africa. They will handle Promoted Tweets, Accounts and Trends – the same products, at the same price that Twitter offers – but will also offer additional insight into the local market.
Ali Jafari, Twitter’s vice president of direct sales for EMEA, says:
“The South African market is an especially good fit for Twitter given the high percentage of mobile usage and we are excited to be partnering with Ad Dynamo to bring Twitter ads to local advertisers.”
Given that 76 percent of people on Twitter are also active on mobile, according to Ad Dynamo, this partnership will allow advertisers to catch consumers while they’re on the go.
Ad Dynamo is also representing Twitter in other African markets, such as Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia and Uganda.
