The most important time of the year is rapidly approaching for toy retailing giant Toys “R” Us, with the unofficial kickoff of the holiday shopping season on Black Friday, and the company announced a revamp of its ecommerce sites for the flagship brand and Babies “R” Us, including enhanced sharing on Facebook and other social networks.
One of the new features on the Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us sites is what the retailer calls toy boards and baby boards, which allow users to organize the items they would most like to receive on themed boards, much like Amazon’s wish lists.
Other enhancements to the websites for Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us include:
- Improved site navigation.
- Enhanced product detail pages with larger, higher-quality images.
- An Info Center that provides quick access to information on services, shipping, returns, and other topics.
- The Savings Center hub for local weekly ads, current specials, and clearance items.
- A gift finder.
- Live chat support.
Toys “R” Us Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Fred Argir said in a release:
Our ecommerce websites receive more than 450 million visits annually, and we are proud to introduce a new look and enhanced functionalities to improve the shopping experience for our customers. Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com are the go-to destinations for a broad assortment of toys and juvenile products, and we have implemented helpful, interactive features, such as a new social shopping component that provides customers with insight into the most popular and trending products, plus improved navigation capabilities, that will make it easier to find the right gift for a child or expectant parent.
