Facebook: Embedded Posts Available to All Users (AllFacebook) Facebook’s embedded posts, which were introduced at the end of July for select media pages, are now available to all users, the social network announced Wednesday. Embedded posts allow users to add public posts from Facebook to other destinations on the Web, such as blogs and websites, with those posts including photos, videos, hashtags and other content. Readers can also like and share directly via embedded posts. Inside Facebook To embed a post, click the arrow in the top right corner of the post, then click “embed post.” Facebook will then generate the code to be copied and pasted. VentureBeat You won’t be able to see the full text of the post if it’s over 150 words, however. Facebook funnels the traffic back to its website by forcing you to click through to see longer content. Anyone who wants to interact with the content will also have to travel back to the original post. Comments are not supported in embeds. CNET With the widespread release, Facebook has made some improvements to embedded posts so that videos can play inside embeds. The embeds are also now better suited for mobile environments, the company said. The Next Web For those with WordPress, you can download an updated plugin that supports embedded posts. However, it’s important to note that you do not need to have a plugin installed on your site to embed a Facebook post. The blogging platform plugin simply lets authors drop in the post’s URL, and it will automatically embed it into the post. Yahoo, Foursquare in Talks Over Data Partnership (BuzzFeed) Foursquare is in talks with Yahoo to partner for the company’s location data — though the discussions are still fluid — according to two sources familiar with the matter.
