The Average Internet User Has 5 Social Media Accounts

If you read AllTwitter you’re almost certainly an active Twitter user, but which other social networks do you log into on a regular basis?

Facebook? That’s basically a given. You’re probably on Instagram, and if you’re a business person you kind of have to use LinkedIn. What else, though? Snapchat? Pinterest? Google+ (gasp) ?

Globally, 91 percent of internet users aged 16-64 have at least one social media account, but a majority have a presence across several. Indeed, the average internet user accesses five different social media platforms. Men are slightly more multi-platform than women, and 16-35 year-olds use about twice as many social networks as 55-64 year-olds.
