SimCity BuildIt Christmas

EA Mobile’s SimCity BuildIt was released on mobile one year ago, and to celebrate the game’s first birthday, EA Mobile has released an infographic of stats from the game’s first year, as well as a content update in the game.

The update allows players who have reached at least Level 23 to expand into new mountain land expansions and create a winter resort for their citizens. This mountain specialization allows players to build items including Cozy Cottages, an Alpine Cafe, Ski Jumping Hill, Mountain Palace and more in their town.

In addition, this update includes a set of holiday parks players can purchase in the game’s store.  Two items, a Holiday Gift Market and Delicacy Market, are available for Simoleons, while an Ice Skating Rink, Holiday Tree and New Years Tower are available for Keys. Finally, users can spend SimCash, the game’s premium currency, on a Holiday Fountain Park.

Lastly, this update includes a new Department of Epic Projects government building players can construct in their towns. Once players reach Level 24, they can complete time-limited Epic Projects to upgrade their existing buildings into Epic Buildings. These Epic Buildings hold more citizens, and produce Speed Up Token Parts, which can be turned into Speed Up Tokens. These Tokens allow users to speed up the production of items in commercial buildings.

In the past year, players have spent 42.2 billion minutes playing SimCity BuildIt, and over 63 million cities have been built so far. These cities have a combined population of 1.8 trillion citizens. Players have used 2.4 billion nails, 1.6 billion planks and 283 million donuts since the game’s launch.

SimCity BuildIt is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Check out the full infographic below.
