Roadhouse Interactive logoMobile and browser-based game developer Roadhouse Interactive today announced a licensing partnership with developer and publisher of tabletop war-games Games Workshop, to develop a new mobile game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The Vancouver-based Roadhouse Interactive will be developing a side-scrolling action game for smartphones and tablets where the player will assume the role of a lone space marine on his quest to destroy endless waves of baddies.

“We are incredibly excited to bring a part of Warhammer 40,000 to life on mobile and tablet and it’s great to work with Games Workshop,” said Tarrnie Williams co-founder and President of Roadhouse Interactive, in a statement. “The legions of fans of Space Marines will now be able to fight the Ork menace while on the move!”

Roadhouse Interactive’s claim to fame came from games like Family Guy Online and turn-based strategy game MechWarrior Tactics. Other games in development from the studio include an unannounced social casino game and collectable card game Elemental Power for the online gaming platform Kongregate.

Turn-based strategy game Space Hulk from developer Full Control, another mobile title based off the Warhammer 40,000 franchise, was announced back in December 2012.

Roadhouse didn’t have an official title for the game nor did they specify which mobile platforms it will release for. More details about the game will be revealed in the coming months.
