Tune Into This Twitter Feed For Your Daily Dose Of Cinematography

When people are eventually won over to Twitter, it’s because they find a feed that they just can’t miss. Sometimes it’s a favorite singer, writer or news source. Other times it can be more unique, like Fake Seinfeld or today’s example: Perfect Shots.

Perfect Shots is a Twitter feed that shares one example of beautiful cinematography every day. Visual artists, movie buffs and amateur cinematographers alike will enjoy beautiful still images from films as diverse as Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The images typically include the image and director of photography (DoP) who shot the film. This is a great example of a niche feed that can almost be a creative tool for filmmakers. The feed has a variety of shots from close-ups to wide shots and would be a great way to quickly scan the work of a plethora of artists.

Perfect Shots is growing, with 27,000+ followers. It is run by a Portland filmmaker named Geoff Todd, whose mission is to “…honor cinema’s past and (hopefully) inspire a new generation of perfect shots. Enjoy the ride!”.

And while some aren’t huge fans of the new Twitter profile, Perfect Shots is an example of a profile that has benefitted from the new layout. Images are large and clearly visible and the site uses a header image from 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick.
