This input and display happens in real time, and uses a “predictive text algorithm” to serve the appropriate ad, based on a combination of text already entered, and text likely to be entered next, among other factors.
For instance, in a news app, when searching for a news article about the current World Cup, an ad would appear for the official World Cup app.
“The key to MobSearch is serving ads for apps that are relevant to the user and maintaining a positive user experience. MobSearch’s algorithm matches the text a user is typing into the search field with relevant keywords and important identifying information such as user profile, location, and so on, to deliver a recommendation the user will appreciate,” said Vianney Settini, Founder and Chief Product Officer of MobPartner.
MobSearch is the latest of MobPartner’s many releases already in 2014. Back in April, the company announced its MobRetail Tracking Platform for retailers to measure how mobile usage impacts their in-store traffic and sales. In February, MobWidget was released to offer contextually relevant app suggestions on the bottom of content and editorial apps.
