Mobile apps sector created 519,000 jobs in the U.S.

CTIA-The Wireless Association and the Application Developers Alliance today released a study which found that the app economy has created 519,000 jobs nationwide since 2007.

Apps made the most significant impact of more than $13.6 billion a year in Washington, California, Oregon and Georgia.

App innovation also occurred far away from Silicon Valley in unexpected states like Virginia and Maryland whose close ties to government agencies and the military fostered developing apps for those sectors.
