Klout Launches Brand Squad Pages

Klout is taking another go at measuring influence – this time for brand pages, with a focus on how users interact with the page. “Brand squads,” according to the announcement on the Official Klout Blog, are “currently in beta, [and] are Klout’s way of giving influencers a place to be recognized and have a direct impact on the brands they care about most.”

Red Bull is the first (and currently, only) organization sporting a brand squad page – check it out below. The page shows Red Bull “influencers” and their Klout scores, along with a sidebar showing the latest Red Bull interactions on Klout.

You can also check out and claim perks by awarding Red Bull a +K or by sharing the brand squad page on Twitter or Facebook. Does that seem odd to anyone else? You “earn” a reward by helping Red Bull increase its Klout score? Hmm.

Anyway, all you need is a Klout score of 1 to receive this perk (after you share it on Twitter or Facebook, of course). Once you do THAT, you’ll “receive a one-year complimentary subscription to The Red Bulletin, which covers all things action, sports, travel, art, and music. This magazine honors those who don’t play by the rules, have a lust for life, and a passion for adventure.” Well! That certainly sounds intriguing . . . but, but – okay, it’s worth a tweet. We suppose.

There are other pending perks available (in exchange for your +K’s) along with a ticker to tell you when the perk is being released. You’ll find samples of Red Bull’s Total Zero, free gear and something that says “experience the world of Red Bull” with someone parachuting. We’ll pass on that one.

What do you think? Are there any brand squad pages that you eagerly await?
