Kindle Fire to Ship with Amazon Appstore, Access to Several Thousand Apps
Amazon announced today that its new Kindle Fire will have access to thousands of apps, including one from leading media companies like Pandora, Netflix, and Rhapsody. The Kindle Fire will also be able to download apps for Facebook as well as games from Electronic Arts, Zynga, and Rovio.All these apps will be available via the Amazon Appstore, which is estimated to currently stocks between 7 and 10 thousand apps.
“We started talking to app developers everywhere the day we introduced Kindle Fire, and the response has been overwhelming,” Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle.
