Jack Black is getting into the web series biz, partnering with Yahoo to produce Ghost Ghirls, a scripted comedy series slated to hit Yahoo! Screen this spring.  The 12-episode series, starring Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci, tells the story of two young female ghostbusters that investigate paranormal activity.

Jack Black’s production company, Electric Dynamite, has teamed up with Shine America to create the series, which Black will co-produce with the series’ stars, Lund and Blasucci, as well as director Jeremy Konner.  Celebs including Black, Molly Shannon, Jason Schwartzman and Jake Johnson (Nick from New Girl) will also be making cameo appearances in the series.

Vivi Zigler, president of digital at Shine America, told The Hollywood Reporter, “People are passionate about the space.  It’s fun, it’s interactive, it’s bite-sized; you don’t have to spend a lifetime to consume it.  We hope to make people laugh, that’s first.  If you make good content the business part tends to follow.”

Black says, “Ghost Girls is the funniest idea for a TV show that we’ve seen since I’ve been in the business.  Jeremy Konner is an electrifying director, and Amanda and Maria are dynamite comedic talents.  I’m very proud to be associated with such a powerful project.”
