idealab Hopes Advertisers Meet Up with TweetUp

idealab will launch TweetUp only for potential advertisers Monday, with the launch of the main service coming within the next few weeks, TechCrunch reported.

TechCrunch described TweetUp as a Twitter search engine with an accompanying advertising platform, and said it will use an algorithm to rank Tweets and specific keywords, inserting advertisers’ Tweets within its results, as well.

Publishers can add TweetUp directly to their sites, and revenues will be split 50-50, according to TechCrunch, adding that the program will start off by allowing advertisers to bid by impression, eventually allowing them to also bid by new follower or by click-through to their URLs.
