The Hulu Video Player Just Got 55% Bigger

By Megan O'Neill

If you’ve tuned into Hulu today, you’ve probably noticed that things look a little bit different.  The online video streaming site has launched a brand new bigger and better player.

Varun Narang, Director, Product at Hulu writes on the Hulu blog, “Dwight Shrute’s head appears bigger, Sue Sylvester’s tracksuit seems starchier and Phil Dunphy’s parenting just got cooler.”

So what’s new on the Hulu video player?  Not only is it 55 percent larger, but it’s also got a new frame and drop shadow that makes for easy viewing.  They’ve also moved all of the video details below the player and cleaned up the style for a less distracting experience and cleaner look.

Narang writes, “We’re constantly listening to customer feedback and finding ways to bring you the best possible user experience.  We hope you enjoy watching your favorite shows on the new player.  Because when it comes to premium video experiences online, we see the big picture.”

Check out a screenshot of the new player below or head on over to to experience it for yourself and let us know what you think.
