Hulu Launches A New Family Friendly Section, Hulu Kids

By Megan O'Neill

This morning, Hulu introduced a new family friendly section called Hulu Kids.  The video streaming site has got lots of great children’s content, from Thomas & Friends to SpongeBob SquarePants and other great content from Nickelodeon, PBS, Lionsgate and more.  Now, parents and kids can easily find all of this content in one destination page.

Rebecca Harper, product manager, explains on the Hulu blog, “All of the videos and recommended content within Hulu Kids are restricted to commercial-free children’s programming.”  Additionally, “For Hulu Plus subscribers logged in on the Hulu website, Hulu Kids features our popular ‘Shows You Watch’ tray so little ones can quickly jump to their favorite shows.  There are categories to browse, like ‘Dino Time’ for videos featuring ‘Barney’ and the lovable reptiles from ‘Dinosaur Train,’ and ‘Cartoon Favorites’ for shows like ‘Arthur’ and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.’”

In addition to the launch of Hulu Kids, Hulu is also announcing updates for their PlayStation 3 app, which will bring Hulu Kids to family TV’s via the PS3.  Those with Blu-ray remotes with the PS3 will also be able to control Hulu Plus with the remote.

Hulu Kids is starting out with 43 shows and growing.  Check it out at and let us know what you think.
