Digital lifestyle company HowAboutWe has launched its first standalone app for couples, You & Me. The app is a messaging platform, giving couples a private tool to send edited photos, text messages, songs, video and voice messages to their partners.
The app is focused on media-rich features, and gives users a private account for personalized use with their significant other. Users can edit photos with fonts, filters, stickers and more, and are encouraged to create virtual mix tapes using the app’s song-sharing feature. You & Me organizes every message and stores them within the app for future browsing.
The app’s photo feature goes one step further with collaborative tools, including a “Halfsie” option for each person to create half of a finished image. You & Me also includes an instant photo booth option for users to make new memories within the app.
Existing users of the HowAboutWe for Couples online service can login to You & Me with their existing user credentials, and a ‘for Couples’ apps is currently in development. The developer has plans to integrate both apps once launched so users can “seamlessly transition between both apps.”
You & Me will also be updated with new features going forward, including a scrapbook feature that will take users’ memories to life in animated, smart photo albums.
“People in relationships say so many important things to each other through their phones. We say simple, practical things, but we also say beautiful things, intimate things — things we want to remember forever,” said HowAboutWe co-founder and co-CEO, Aaron Schildkrout. “We realized that there weren’t any messaging apps that fully support how couples communicate today — through text, music and rich media — so we built one. We created You & Me as the ideal communication resource for people in love.”
You & Me is available to download for free on iOS. Check back soon to follow the app on AppData, our tracking platform for mobile and social apps and developers.
