Social-media-management platform HootSuite announced the release of HootSuite Assignments, a browser extension for Google Chrome that enables HootSuite Pro and HootSuite Enterprise users to quickly assign Twitter tweets and Facebook posts to team members.
HootSuite said HootSuite Assignments was created to enable social media managers who were not active on the HootSuite dashboard to stay on top of opportunities in real-time and quickly assign posts to sales, customer support, public relations, marketing, or other departments.
The browser extension features an “assign to” button, which appears below all Facebook posts and tweets, and users can assign those posts or tweets to their entire teams or appropriate members, as well as add custom messages. A browser popup menu then allows them to monitor progress.
HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes said:
Social media gives businesses the remarkable ability to listen to what the public and their clients are saying about their brand or their product, and then respond in real-time. So effective, enterprise companies are now constantly monitoring and engaging with their audiences on social media networks, using tools like ours. But we also realize that not all of them are using the HootSuite dashboard all of the time. Some are doing this right from Facebook.com or Twitter.com. In our business, we have to be flexible and adapt quickly to what people need now for a better and smoother social media experience.
