Founded in 2008, Hootsuite connects to your pages on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ so that you can monitor conversations and schedule posts. You can also use it to post content on YouTube,Tumblr, MailChimp, Flickr, and other services. The company serves 5 million customers and competes with other services like Salesforce and TweetDeck.
Multiple people can work from the same dashboard using the Teams feature, but until now, there hasn’t been a way for them to communicate with each other without going somewhere else. Conversations is designed for support teams, marketing departments, and any other group in the company to work together on their social media accounts.
“I see interesting opportunities for both innovation and engagement arising out of tools like HootSuite Conversations. Tools alone are never enough, but together with a strategy and culture shift towards real-time knowledge sharing and transfer – HootSuite now empowers people to better identify subject matter experts, think out loud, develop shared listening, and build collective intelligence and memory. This can be very powerful in inspiring employees and strengthening trust as well as identifying new opportunities and ideas. It’s not just about identifying ideas but being able to act on those ideas and integrate employee feedback,” said Jacob Morgan, Principal of Chess Media Group and best-selling book author of The Collaborative Organization in a statement.
The tool is available in beta for freebie accounts as well as Hootsuite’s upgraded plans. You can import your contacts from Google and Yahoo! for an easier transition.
