Facebook Looking To Hire Global Head Of Diversity

By David Cohen

Facebook listed a fairly high-profile position on its Careers at Facebook page: global head of diversity.

Facebook Spokesman Slater Tow said in an email to Bloomberg:

We’re a fast-growing company, and this role will help us formalize processes that ensure that we scale our diversity at the same rate. In the past, our diversity and inclusion efforts were decentralized amongst many employees and, given our stage of growth, we are consolidating our work and people into one team.

We’ve always focused on recruiting the very best and brightest. We are big believers that creativity happens with people who have different perspectives and backgrounds.

The job description from the social network reads:

Facebook is seeking a strong, experienced global diversity leader to lead the diversity team. This is a unique opportunity to have a dramatic impact on the company by helping to evolve our diversity and inclusion strategies. In this role, you would be responsible for managing a high-performing team of diversity program managers based out of our global headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif. Ideal candidates will have substantive experience in managing diversity teams; strong strategic skills; industry expertise; diversity recruiting and development expertise; a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive strategy in a dynamic environment; previous experience working in fast-paced environments; and effective public speaking skills.

See the listing for more details on responsibilities and requirements.
