foursquare Wants to Be a Part of It, New York, New York

NewYorkfoursquare.jpgNew York magazine’s joined the growing list of media entities checking in with location-based mobile app foursquare, announcing a partnership in which users who follow New York on foursquare receive tips from the magazine’s food, fashion, and nightlife editors, either when they check in to a location or when they add venues to their to-do lists.

The initiative taps the database of some 5,000 restaurants, 1,600 bars, 5,500 stores, and 1,200 salons and spas, with tips including recommended dishes, sales or bargains, and new treatments. online general manager Michael Silberman said:
