Forrester Analyst James McQuivey Says Digital Reading Revolution Is Here

James McQuivey, VP, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research, thinks that 2010 has been the year of eReaders and he thinks the digital reading revolution is under way.

In a podcast interview with Chris Kenneally from Beyond the Book, McQuivey pointed out that by the end of the year there will be 10 million eReaders in people’s hands in the U.S. and about the same amount of tablets in people’s hands,

“So much of what happens in any digital media revolution –whether we are looking at music which happened several years ago, or books which is happening right now– is that you first need to have a base of devices that makes it easy for people to consume their favorite content,” said McQuivey.
