Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox club is taking aim at its Hispanic fan base, launching Facebook page Los Red Sox, Twitter account @RedSoxBeisbol, and website Los Red Sox, the Boston Herald reported, adding that 11 of the team’s players speak Spanish.
The Los Red Sox Web properties offer content including translations of MLB.com stories, video interviews, cultural events, and segments from Spanish-language TV show El Reporte de los Red Sox, the Herald reported.
Red Sox officials told the Herald the team is the seventh in the league to launch Spanish-language Twitter and Facebook accounts, while 17 have websites featuring Spanish.
