Facebook is no stranger to sticker shock… or backlash for that matter.

News that it was buying little known messaging startup – WhatsApp – for $19 billion was quickly panned as a desperate and expensive move. “This is crazy money,” noted Rob Enderle, principle analyst at Enderle Group, as quoted by CNBC. “I think they massively overpaid for this. They’ve done it because they are desperate.”
