Facebook’s newest acqui-hire is the team behind “musical selfie” application Eyegroove.

Eyegroove CEO Scott Snibbe posted on the app’s homepage:

We founded Eyegroove to empower mobile video creativity. After two years of daily delight in our users’ beautiful Grooves, we are shutting down our app.

We are excited that much of our small team will be joining Facebook to work on new experiences for people to create, share and connect.

Sarah Perez of TechCrunch reported that Eyegroove had fewer than one-dozen employees, adding that Facebook did not acquire the company or its technology and intellectual property.
