Evolve Literary Journal Runs Fundraiser

Evolve Literary Journal, a digital literary magazine, is running a promotion to help fundraise for 2011. Select authors who work with the journal have agreed to give MP3 versions of their stories away for free to those who donate from now until the beginning of 2011. These free audio stories include White Paper by Tony Noland and The Birthday Party and Spilling Sunlight by Aaron M. Wilson. To donate, follow this link. You will be donating to help the lit journal develop in 2011. The journal’s 2011 game plan involves four steps: “1. Growth! Evolve is hoping to grow its monthly publication rate to eight short stories a month, every month, by April 2011. To do this we need to start promoting ourselves in print publications like “Writer’s Market” and others. We also hope to double the number of our weekly columns. 2. Progress! Evolve is about pushing the boundaries of short fiction. To do this in 2011 we hope to run a few contests with competitive prizes for our contestants. One such contest is called Adaptation. Adaptation will ask contestants to write a short story, adapt it into a screen play and then produce that screen play into a short video. Our goal is to run this contest in March 2011. 3. Multiply! Evolve is currently one website and a poorly updated blog. On our one website we publish everything. From columns to short stories with only a slight separation from the two. In 2011 we hope to split Evolve into two websites. One will be dedicated to columns and news about short fiction while the other will act as a more official literary publication. This will hopefully coincide with a PDF version of Evolve. 4. Solidify! In 2011 Evolve hopes to officially become a Non-Profit. This will mean creating a board of directors and filing for corporation status. Along with making all of your donations tax-deductable (in the USA) it will also move us towards officialdom with The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses.”
