iXtentia Information Technology has released Email for Business, an iPad app that looks to help business professionals create professionally designed letterhead and notecards while on the go, without being tied to a traditional desktop experience. The app separates Letterheads and Notecards into a virtual desk of sorts, and gives users a chance to choose from over 35 templates, and then customize those templates with specific logos and company information.
iXtentia hopes Email for Business will allow professionals to better manage their time during long commutes, by still giving them a chance to craft professional documents on the train or bus. Furthermore, the app also addresses forgetful users, who may have forgotten to print a document at home and then remembered after it was too late.
Created documents can be sent as HTML emails from the user’s iPad, and user profiles will store personal information, like addresses and business telephone numbers, so that it only needs to be entered once. The app supports digital signatures, as well as social media links, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.
Email for Business joins a growing market of apps created specifically for business professionals, who may not always have access to a desktop computer. Another app, WorldCard Mobile, gives users the ability to scan business cards using their device’s camera, and then store that info in their address book.
In theory, users combining the two applications could send detailed thank you notes or invitations to new contacts while on business trips, while attending conventions or other business functions, and so on, without ever being at a computer.
