Saved from food poisoning by foursquare? It’s possible thanks to DontEat.at, a text-messaging service that uses the location-based mobile app’s application-programming interface and health code records from the City of New York.
Created by Max Stoller, DontEat.at will automatically send text messages to foursquare users who check in at restaurants in New York City that were tagged with violations by the Health Department.
Stoller hopes to expand DontEat.at to other cities soon. The service received an Honorable Mention award at the city’s second annual Big Apps competition.
