Unless you’ve been living in a cave (that has really bad wifi reception) for the past week or so, you’re no doubt well aware that American R&B singer and convicted felon Chris Brown deleted his Twitter account the weekend before last, following a very public spat with comedienne Jenny Johnson.
Buzzfeed got the scoop, I think, and you can read more about what went down over there. Of course, a week is a long time on the internet, and Chris Brown is back. On Twitter. And he’s deleted all of those tweets.
Plus everything else he’s ever written, too. At least, that’s how it looks. Twitter might be glitching as Brown’s account comes back online, but as you can see from the screen grab below – and despite his tally showing 6 tweets – his timeline is empty.
Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and assume this is indicative of any shame on Brown’s part following his showdown with Johnson. I’m not sure humility ranks very highly on his list of personal achievements. This is the same Chris Brown, of course, who beat on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna to a bloody pulp back in 2009. So I wouldn’t be expecting any “I’m sorry” tweets anytime soon.
During his Twitter hiatus Brown remained active on Instagram, and yesterday he shared a new photo of himself and Rihanna, asking fans, “What would music today sound like if these kids didn’t exist?”
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say: I think it would have coped.
Brown posts on Instagram under the charming username @fuckyopictures. There’s also a Twitter profile of the same name, which allegedly is also run by Brown, and he was active on here while his @chrisbrown account was offline. If you check the latest tweet from @fuckyopictures, it says “The account @chrisbrown will now be ran by management!!”.

Could it be true? Does anyone really care? I’m afraid so. As much as we (i.e., sane, rational folk who don’t condone or excuse violence against women) might not understand it, the more than eleven million members of Brown’s ever-deluded Team Breezy clearly do care, and likely will continue to worship Brown irrespective of what he does and how he behaves. And, unfortunately, it appears that Rihanna once again is including herself amongst their membership.
