Mystery Manor creator Game Insight has announced the launch of its newest hidden object game Hotel Enigma on iPad and Facebook. The game sees players traveling to an ordinary country hotel, only to quickly discover things perhaps aren’t as they seem. In Hotel Enigma, players will need to collect clues and unravel the mystery behind a strange hotel guest with the power to travel between dimensions.
Like other Game Insight hidden object games, including Mirrors of Albion and Love and Dragons, Hotel Enigma (developed by Like Games) offers an overall world map containing hidden object scenes that unlock as players make progress. These scenes come in multiple types, from standard scenes with text lists, to those that contain item silhouettes and more.
Players can use multiple types of hints to help them find objects. A candlestick may show one random item on the list, for example, while the vacuum will instantly grab all of the necessary items, ending the level. Players receive a starting supply of these specialty hints, like the vacuum, but can purchase additional units with real money when they’ve run out.
Many additional elements return from other Game Insight titles, including a collection system, achievement system and amulets, which may increase the game’s energy recharge rate, or the amount of experience points players earn for a limited amount of time. The game is further monetized via the purchase of collectibles which are otherwise found at random in hidden object scenes.
Hotel Enigma’s storyline is described as that of a detective novel, with “unexpected twists and turns,” and the game’s cross platform support allows gamers to keep up with the story by saving progress across both iPad and Facebook.
Hotel Enigma is now available to download for free on iPad. The game’s website has revealed that an Android version is also in the works. Check back soon to follow Hotel Enigma on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
