Bay Citizen Launches Tomorrow

San Francisco’s new $5-million, Hellman Foundation-funded news organization goes live tomorrow at baycitizen.org. In the five months since former Industry Standard editor-in-chief and New West entrepreneur Jonathan Weber was hired as editor-in-chief of the Bay Citizen (formerly known as the Bay Area News Project), the promised editorial staff of 14 has been assembled.

They include: Former Washington Post writer and Pulitzer Prize winner Steve Fainaru as Managing Editor for News (yes, he’s San Francisco Chronicle Balco-gate investigative journalist Mark Fainaru-Wada’s brother); Salon managing editor Jeanne Carstensen as Managing Editor; KPCC producer/reporter Queena Kim as Community Editor; New America Media managing editor Annette Fuentes as Online Editor; and KALW Crosscurrents reporter and editor Zoe Corneli as Online Editor.
