Barnes & Noble Launches PubIt!
On the heels of Amazon’s Adobe InDesign plugin, Barnes & Noble has finally launched its digital publishing platform called PubIt!. The new software, which B&N announced back in May, will let authors and publishers publish their work as eBooks directly to BN.com.
Amazon’s self-publishing platform CreateSpace has been popular among authors and among literary agents, who have been using the software to bypass traditional publishers are releasing eBooks themselves.
To use the service, publishers can upload ePUB files directly or Microsoft Word, TXT, HTML or RTF files which the PubIt! platform will convert to ePUB for free.
