Apple iOS 7 Causing Motion Sickness for Users
While designers are bemoaning the aesthetic merits of Apple’s new operating system, some users are experiencing a different kind of upheaval. The new animation and parallax scrolling is making users sick, literally.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to turn off the animations to make the symptoms go away. One lucky AT&T customer was able to trade in an upgraded phone for a new phone without the new operating system:
According to some users, the animations will affect those with Ménière’s, labyrinthitis, or Neuro-Ocular Vestibular Dysfunction. Whatever the cause, let’s hope Apple introduces a fix soon.
For those who suffer from visual vertigo, I would advise on not upgrading until there’s a way to remove the animations completely.
