Amazon Reports 41% Increase In Net Sales

Amazon reported a 41% increase in net sales for the second quarter 2010. Net sales in 2010 hit $6.57 billion in Q1 2010 compared to $4.65 billion in Q2 2009.

The e-commerce retailer equated the sales to the growth of the Kindle. According to the company eBooks are now outselling hardcovers on it’s site.

Amazon also said that it sold more than 3x as many Kindle books in the first half of 2010 as in the first half of 2009.

Amazon CFO Tom Szkuta said that Kindle book sales are coming from both devices and apps.
