ABI: Mobile Social Networking to Explode Soon

FierceMobileContent reports a rather stunning prediction: More than 140 million consumers will embrace mobile social networking by 2013, according to a forecast released by market analysis firm ABI Research, which also expects subscription revenues in excess of $410 million.

We say “stunning” because the mobile social networking market is very fragmented today. Top brands like Facebook and MySpace continue to push through, but there are also hundreds of mobile social networking startups out there that have had a very hard time gaining traction (or even distinguishing themselves from one another, to be honest).
