Back in March of this year Robert Gibbs, a morbidly obese man, reached out to YouTube for help in a video called ‘Overweight guy asks for help.’ The video went viral, racking up over a million views and catching the attention of transformation specialist Chris Powell, Dr. Phil and others in a matter of days. Days ago, Robert returned to YouTube with a super positive new video, in which he reports that he has lost over 100 pounds.
Robert explains that following the spread of his original video he appeared on the Dr. Phil show on April 18, after which he headed to Wall Spring Academy, a weight loss academy in California. When Robert arrived at Wall Spring he weighed 764 pounds. He reports, “As of today, June 8, 2012, I am down to 663 pounds, so I have lost a total of 101 pounds.”
Robert also reports that in the near future he’ll be starting his own healthy food cooking show on YouTube, with the help of the Well Spring nutritionist. “I was making this video because a lot of you guys have been asking for updates, and I hope this is one that you guys like!”
Back in March, Robert touched a lot of people with his emotional plea for help. He made and uploaded the video a day before his twenty-third birthday, explaining that he has tried to lose weight on his own unsuccessfully. He said, “This is my last chance, my last hope, one of them. I’m really scared I’m not going to be able to watch my niece and nephew grow up. I’m just trying to get some help from somebody.”
It’s really great to see that Robert did get the help he was looking for and is on the right path. You can follow Robert’s journey at youtube.com/ragingrobert.
