33 #Twitter Tips in 140 Characters (Or Less) [INFOGRAPHIC]

If you want to succeed on Twitter, you need to have a strategy.

While there are no hard and fast rules to success, there are a wealth of best practices, good habits and not-so-common sense guidelines that will significantly improve your Twitter efforts.

For example, if you’re new to Twitter the very first thing you should do is get rid of the default egg avatar. It screams newbie. Instead, upload a recent headshot, or your brand logo.

Learn Twitter’s culture and lingo, and be sure to add your Twitter ID to your email signature, blog articles and other website content to maximise awareness and boost your followers.

Tweet a lot – many studies show that the more that you tweet, the more followers you will attract – and aim for punchy, interesting tweets. Finally, be visual – tweets with images can generate up to 150 percent more engagement than text-only updates.
