When Press Coverage Gets Pricey: Style.com Writer 'Consulting' To Brands He Covers

What’s the going rate for a fashion piece these days? It might be $2,500, a Jezebel post suggested. The buzz is that Derek Blasberg, who covers parties for Condé Nast’s Style.com, asked for $2,500 from Yves Saint Laurent.

Blasberg, who covered a Yves Saint Laurent event last Friday, denied to Jezebel that he had received “any payment that could be characterized as an ‘appearance fee.'”

That said, he also confirmed that he had done some “consulting” for the brand.
