Vocus announced today its acquisition of North Social, software that helps companies create and manage their Facebook pages.
Vocus has paid $7 million at close, but could pay an additional $18 million over 24 months based upon certain achievements.
North Social has 19 Facebook apps and aids with social media campaigns, multimedia elements, and other pieces of a PR initiative. According to the press release, it’s used by more than 1,300 organizations including Sony and the Hard Rock Café.
Vocus announced just a couple of weeks ago (along with its earnings) that it had acquired Engine 140, a brand-building software for Twitter. Vocus says this latest acquisition will have no impact on the revenue for the first quarter, which ends March 31, 2011, or the year. But it could reduce non-GAAP EPS numbers by a penny for the quarter and four cents for the year.
