Libby Langsdorf has joined Atomic PR’s New York office as senior director. Langsdorf was AVP for public affairs for the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Atomic co-founder/CEO Andy Getsy cites Langsdorf’s experience with the city’s “tech and start-up community” in a statement about the new hire. She has also worked with Rubenstein PR and LaForce + Stevens.
PHD US has named Craig Atkinson president and chief digital officer overseeing the firm’s digital matters and sitting the the agency’s management team. He joins PHD from the parent Omnicom Media Group, where he handled the McDonald’s business and once held the chief acquisitions officer title.
Catharine Cyr Ransom has joined Glover Park Group as MD in the government affairs practice. Previously, she was the senior climate and environmental advisor to Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT). She has worked on environmental issues for nearly 20 years.
Arik Abel has joined French/West/Vaughn as director of digital services from the Emerging Media Research Council, a Raleigh, N.C.-based organization. The firm also announced two other staff hires and four promotions.
Christopher Panetta has joined Widmeyer Communications’ research and polling practice as senior analyst. He joins from Lake Research Partners where he was a senior analyst working on issues including education and healthcare.
Vox Global has hired Mike Marker to serve as to head the firm’s new Indianapolis office. Marker recently led the AT&T account out of Indiana and Kentucky, and lobbied for the Indiana Telecom and Video Reform Act. Previously, he’s worked for Ruder Finn and Fleishman-Hillard. [via IBJ.com]
Research in Motion’s CMO Keith Pardy has resigned for “personal reasons,” according to the Wall Street Journal, but will be sticking around through a six-month transition period. Pardy’s departure comes just as RIM prepares to launch its new tablet, the PlayBook.
