PR Agency Profitability Reaches Four Year Low; Average Monthly Fee $9,808

PR agency operating profit has reached a four year low of 13.5%, according to the annual PR industry Benchmarking survey from consulting firm StevensGouldPincus.

Operating profits are down from 15.6% in 2008 and 19.7% in 2007. Despite the drop, Rick Gould told PRNewser that he was “pleasantly surprised,” with the figure. “I expected it to be much worse,” he said.

The survey of 111 PR agencies also revealed that the average monthly fee for these agencies is $9,808.
